Most Underrated Events in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Since its release early last year, Animal Crossing New Horizons has had so many updates adding all kinds of events for players to enjoy. We all know about Toy Day and Halloween, but what about some of the lesser-known ones? Today, we’re going to go over some of the most underrated events in Animal Crossing New Horizons that you may have not even know about.

Without further ado, let’s get right into it.

May Day

May Day is an event that occurs during the first week of May and takes place on a special island that’s essentially just one big maze full of puzzles. You’ll have to think carefully about what tools to make, which rocks to break, and which trees to uproot to get through successfully. There’s a special reward at the end if you can make it through, and there are even a bunch of smaller prizes dotted around in various corners of the maze.

If you enjoy elaborate puzzles and are looking for a change of pace from the standard Animal Crossing gameplay, then May Day is the event for you.

Wedding Season

Up next we’ve got the Wedding event that takes place throughout June, which is arguably one of the most adorable events in the entire game. Here, you get to interact with Reese and Cyrus and perform a photoshoot with them to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Not only do you get to let out your creative side, but you’ll also unlock a bunch of beautiful wedding-themed furniture items to use as you please on your island. How neat is that?

International Museum Day

The International Museum Day event takes place at the end of May and encourages you to explore the museum for all it has to offer, gathering special stamps along the way. Each exhibit has its own dedicated stamp sheet to fill in, and for each one you complete, you get a special golden plaque to commemorate the event. Pretty cool, right?

If you haven’t had the chance to properly explore the museum on your island yet, then the International Museum Day event is the time to do it. The entire place is breathtakingly beautiful, and I guarantee you’ll enjoy checking it out.

Turkey Day

Turkey Day is the Thanksgiving of Animal Crossing, taking place on the 4th Thursday of November each year. The event requires you to collect various ingredients to make special food dishes, and let me tell you, it’s really good fun. From mushrooms to mussels, you’ll get told what you need to collect, and if you’re successful, you’ll get a bunch of cool Thanksgiving-themed items as a reward.

During the event, all of your villagers will dress up in chef outfits too, which is just adorable! Who wouldn’t want to see that?

Conclusion

Events pop up all the time in Animal Crossing New Horizons, so it’s always a good idea to hop on regularly to check out what’s new. Not only do most events give you unique items, but they also provide you with a completely new and exciting experience, so definitely consider participating in them (especially the more underrated ones we spoke about in this article). We guarantee you’ll have a blast.
